Looney Tunes 'Masters of Animation' Cel by Clampett

Looney Tunes 'Masters of Animation' Cel by Clampett

This very special limited-edition framed animation cel represents the first time that Warner Bros.' own Masters of Animation can be seen grouped together, surrounded by seventeen of the characters that they made famous. The masters represented are: directors Tex Avery, Bob Clampett, Friz Freleng, Chuck Jones and Bob McKimson. Also included are voice artist Mel Blanc, and Carl Stalling, whose musical direction was instrumental in the making of the Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies cartoons. The art was originally conceptualized and designed by Ruth Clampett, Director of Creative design for Warner Bros. Worldwide Retail, as a mural for the Flagship Studio Store in Manhattan. The image began with a painstakingly rendered background, assembling images of these historical figures as they appeared in the "Golden Age" of Warner Bros. Animation. This hand-rendered background was then reproduced on a beautiful, uncoated, archival paper stock, using the lithography process. Each cel was expertly hand-painted and the limited edition number was hand inked in an edition size of 500. This piece measures 36 inches by 26 inches framed and comes with a beautiful gold filet frame, linen matting and plexi-glass.

Batman...and Beyond Limited Edition Art

Batman...and Beyond Limited Edition Art

"Batman...and Beyond" charts the Dark Knight's progression in the award-winning Warner Bros. Animated series which ran from 1992 to 2000. Designed by Juan Ortiz, this pan cel portrays three versions of Batman as conceived by art director Bruce Timm. The first Batman (from the first season) is the dark and vengeful character who exists in the equally vengeful Gotham City. The second Batman (Wearing his Jet-Wing) reverts to a more classic Bob Kane style, with notably grayer tones in Batman's suit. The third Batman, from Batman Beyond, shows a more Animee-influenced Batman: his suit is red and black, and his shape is more angular in contrast with the two previous Dark Knight styles. The animation for this limited edition was created at the Warner Bros. Animation Studio. The design and layout was rendered by Juan Ortriz, and the final tight drawing by Dan Beltran. The master inking was made by Laurie Dindis, which was then silk-screened onto an acetate sheet (or "cel") along with the Clampett Studio Collection's seal of authenticity. Each cel was then expertly hand-painted on the reverse side in the classic animation style. The original background was meticulously rendered by artist Hector Martinez and reproduced utilizing a fine art giclee process. Each cel is hand-signed by famed Batman The Animated Series producer Bruce Timm. As a final step, each cel is hand numbered to an ultimate edition size of only 100 pieces. The piece measures 28 inches by 19.50 inches framed and comes with a black wood frame, black core top mat, red middle mat, black core bottom mat and plexi-glass. Foam core spacers are included in the framing process to create shadows of Batman behind each image.
