Beaky Buzzard was created by Bob Clampett for the cartoon, "Bugs Bunny Gets The Boid." In the first two cartoons, his heavily accented mother (who calls him "Killer") always sends him off to bring something home for dinner. The character was revived by Friz Freleng and Robert McKimson for another two films in 1950 ("The Lion's Busy" and "Strife With Father").

First appearing in 1946 in "Walky Talky Hawky", Foghorn Leghorn was created to be a supporting character in a Henery Hawk cartoon. But this southern gentleman was a hit, and soon launched his own career. Between 1946 and 1980, Foghorn Leghorn appeared in 30 animated short films and he remains one of the most endearing Looney Tunes characters.
